Disc sleeve. Making a CD envelope from a sheet of paper How to make a CD envelope by hand

You often have to look for a box for a freshly recorded disc, but without one at hand, you can build an envelope for discs from a sheet of “snow maiden” paper in standard A4 format. Since discs are very easy to scratch, learn how to make an envelope for them in 1 minute. Here are a few different ways to fold a paper CD sleeve.

First way

If you have a printer, download this one and print it on A4 sheet without using margins. Next, bend it along the lines according to this figure.

Second way

To get an envelope for one disc, do as in this video

Third way

This method was found on the site http://masteru.org.ua/ and it is also good for creating a single container for a CD or DVD.

This solves the problem of buying boxes for CDs and DVDs. According to my calculations, the cost of 500 paper envelopes is equal to the cost of a pack of “Snow Maiden” paper, that is, 120-150 rubles.

Recently, a friend of mine brought me a disc in an unusual envelope. It looked nice and was made from a regular piece of A4 paper. To the question - did you come up with this yourself? He answered yes, but his cunning eyes told me that he had spied it somewhere. With his permission, I took a few pictures, this is what he looks like:

To make such an envelope, any paper will do; I usually use damaged sheets with one side clean. So, how to make an envelope like this:

1. Take a sheet of A4 paper and fold the top edge along the bottom edge, as shown in the photo.

2. Now fold the bottom right edge as shown below. The width of the bend should be approximately equal to the width of the disk (12 cm) plus a small margin of about 5 mm.

3. Now insert the disk inside to find out the width of the bend. If the paper is standard, then it turns out like in the next photo.

4. Something like this.

5. Bend the top flap straight and the envelope is ready. Here you can seal the side and insert the disc from above, but I usually don’t do this, the disc sits well in such an envelope and is more convenient to take out.

You can make several of these envelopes so that they are already ready in stock. If you have any other options, or something interesting and useful, send them, we will be happy to consider them.

Very often, in order to save money, I buy a package of CD/DVD discs to record all sorts of things on them. And as a rule, I forget about where I will put the already recorded discs later. Often you need to record something for friends or for work, but without a box the disc can be scratched and some of the data may not be counted, which can be a shame. You have to quickly pack a CD/DVD disc in some kind of envelope, usually made from a sheet of A4 paper, which has already been reliably installed not only in offices, but also in apartments. This is very impractical, not to mention aesthetically.

One day I decided that it would be nice to take and print an envelope; I had paper and a printer too. Technologies are now developing very rapidly, but printers do not yet print ready-made envelopes. But it’s very possible to print a blank for making an envelope for CD/DVD discs. Having literally spent ten to fifteen minutes of time, I made a blank for printing an envelope, already with lines drawn to record information about the contents of the disc and the type of disc.

Then everything is simple, the entire manufacturing procedure takes only five steps.

Step one: print out the blank of our future envelope for a CD/DVD disc.

Printing the envelope blank

Step two: cut out the outline of our future envelope and make a slot for the lock.

Step three: fold the wings of the envelope along the dotted line and apply a thin layer of glue to the wings, so that excess glue does not get on other parts of the envelope.

Step four: glue the envelope.

Step five: wait a few minutes for the glue to dry (depending on the type of glue used). A good result is obtained if you dry the envelope under load, for example by placing several books on top, the envelope turns out to be very even. And now you have a ready-made envelope in which you can transport and store your CD/DVD discs.

You can use a blank for making an envelope for CD/DVD discs and, if necessary, make your own envelopes.

What is the best way to preserve memories of the brightest events of our lives? Of course, photography. We often burn them to discs. There can be a lot of such disks accumulated. How can we make sure that they are preserved intact, and that it is not difficult to find the desired disk among the many available at home? For this we propose to issue DIY CD sleeve with photos. In this case we will create disc sleeve with wedding photos, but you can design absolutely any disc in this way: photos from your travels, holidays, or just walks. This will not be difficult to do, and in the end you will get a beautiful and functional thing that will help you organize your photo collection.

To create such an envelope you will need:

- cardstock, cardboard or watercolor paper for the base, scrap paper,

- ribbons, half-pearls, a heart-shaped buckle made of mother-of-pearl beads,

- figured hole punches,

- ink pad, stamps,

- double-sided tape or glue,

- scissors, breadboard or stationery knife, ruler.

First of all, we need to make the base of our future CD sleeve. To do this, use cardstock; you can also take designer or regular cardboard or thick paper for watercolors. The size of the envelope in this case is 14 x 14 cm, but it depends on your desire. The main thing is that the disk itself fits into it later. So, cut out the base measuring 14 x 28 cm. It is best to do this with a breadboard knife under a ruler on a cutting mat, this avoids marks from pencil lines.

To fold the base evenly in half, you need to make a crease - draw a line along which the fold will go. If you don’t have a special tool, you can use improvised means - a crochet hook, a non-writing pen, etc.

Bend the cardstock along the resulting line. The base is ready.

Now you need to formalize it. Use your favorite scrap paper for this. It is necessary to cut a square slightly smaller than the size of the base, literally 5 - 10 mm.

Decorate the bottom corners with a corner figured hole punch.

Need to put in a disc? But it turned out that the box or envelope was not at home? We offer you a simple way to make a CD envelope from a regular A4 sheet.

How to make an envelope for a disc from A4?

To get a good product, you must strictly follow the instructions. To make it, we need the disc itself (CD or DVD) and a regular sheet of A4 paper.

Let's get to work!

1. We place the disk on the edge of the long side of the sheet of paper so that the center of its hole is in the middle of this edge - photo No. 1.
2. We bend the edges of the sheet to the size of our disk - photo No. 2.
3. We bend the sheet folded from the sides again, to half the size of the disk. We insert our disk into the resulting pocket - photo No. 3.
4 . We bend the remaining part of the sheet towards the disk and press it against it - photo No. 4.
5. We turn the same part of the sheet back and make small bends on the sides, in the form of wings - photos No. 5 and No. 6.
6. We insert the edge of the sheet with curved wings into the opposite pocket where disk photo No. 7 is located.
7 . Our A4 paper disc envelope is ready - photo No. 8.

This arrangement of the disc in an envelope is well suited for home storage. And if you want to take it to a friend, then it is better to put it not in your pocket, but in the middle of a sheet folded on the sides, as shown in the video below, to avoid street dust getting on the disc.
