Mystery.
A sprout is breaking through,
Amazing flower.
It grows out from under the snow,
The sun will look and it will bloom.
Answer: Snowdrop
Snowdrop
I was born!
I was born!
The snow has broken through
He came into the world!
Wow, what a prickly snow you are,
You are cold, snowy, and feisty.
You're dreaming about frost in vain,
Very soon you will melt,
You'll float into the river
And you won’t say a word!
A. Matutis

I would like to suggest making an applique from colored paper “Basket with snowdrops”.
We will be working with scissors, so we need to remember how to handle scissors while working.
When working with scissors, observe the following rules:
1. Keep your workplace tidy.
2. Before work, check the serviceability of the tools.
3. Do not use loose scissors. Use scissors with rounded ends.
4. Work only with serviceable tools: well-adjusted and sharpened scissors.
5. Use scissors only in your own workplace.
6. Watch the movement of the blades while working.
7. Place the scissors with the rings facing you.
8. Feed the scissors rings forward.
9. Don't leave scissors open.
10. Store scissors in a case with the blades facing down.
11. Don't play with scissors, don't bring scissors to your face.
12. Use scissors as intended.

Making the application “Basket with snowdrops”.

Let's prepare the templates. We have templates on our tables, with the help of which we will cut out all the details of our applique (snowdrop details, basket detail).

For the flowers, we will prepare seven white circles with a diameter of 6 centimeters, seven circles of yellow and seven white circles with a diameter of 3 centimeters. We choose cardboard of any color, the main thing is that the applique does not merge and is clearly visible.

1. According to the technological map, we will make snowdrop petals:
- fold the circle cut out according to the template in half;
- fold it again (it turns out that the circle will fold in four);
- fold the right edge towards the middle;
- fold the left edge towards the middle;
- cut off the right edge slightly rounded;
- let’s expand the part, we get petals for a flower.

In this order we will prepare the details for seven flowers.
2. Using the technological map, we will prepare a part for the center of the flower:
- cut out a circle using the template and fold it in half;
- fold it again (it turns out that the circle is folded in four);
- cut the edge into small strips (noodles), do not cut to the end;
- let’s unfold the part, we get a circle with the edge cut into small strips (noodles).

Thus, we will prepare seven circles for the middle of the flower, white and yellow.
3. Let's start collecting the flower:
- for this we take a circle with petals prepared according to the technological map;

- glue a yellow circle with a cut edge into the middle;

- glue a white circle with a cut edge;

- fluff the middle of the flower a little.

4. In this way we will prepare seven snowdrops.

5. To weave a basket, we need to take a yellow rectangle 18 centimeters long and 10 centimeters wide. Draw a rectangle into vertical stripes 1 centimeter wide. Cut the rectangle into vertical stripes. For ease of weaving, we do not cut 1 centimeter to the edge of the strips.
We cut eight green strips 1 centimeter wide and 18 centimeters long.

6. We begin weaving. We weave a green strip into a cut yellow rectangle.

7. Weave the second green stripe in a checkerboard pattern.

8. We weave all the strips in this way to make a wicker rug.

9. Let’s cut out the part for the basket according to the template; you can use white paper. Glue the basket part onto the wicker rug.

10. Trim the edges of the rug, leaving about 1 centimeter.

11. Fold the edges of the rug and glue them to the underside of the basket.

The result is a wicker basket like this.

12. Let's start assembling our application.
Glue a wicker basket onto the cardboard.

13. Glue the first row of snowdrops - 4 flowers.

14. Glue the second row of snowdrops - 3 flowers.

A basket is a decorative item; it is easy to make even from paper. You may ask why do it at all? Let's answer - you are going to visit, for example, a friend or girlfriend, and have prepared a gift for him (her). If it is small in size (for example, a diamond ring for a girl, or a 999 gold bar for a friend), you can decorate the gift with plain paper, this is done very simply. Believe me, the effect will intensify, and everyone will be happy - both you and the person to whom you are giving the gift.

Now we will tell you how you can make a basket out of paper that will give your item originality.

Making a paper basket is not difficult, choose from any of the available methods described below.

    Show all

    Wicker paper basket

    Cut strips of cardboard of different colors, forty centimeters long and two wide. Depending on how many strips you cut, the size of the basket will depend. It depends on what gift you want to give it for.

    Weave the cut pieces of cardboard together as shown in the figure below.

    This type of weaving is called fabric weaving, since its structure resembles that of almost any type of material that is used for sewing clothes. This will serve as the bottom for our product.

    In the same way you need to make the sides for the basket, only you use more rectangles of cardboard.

    After that, bending the corners, lubricate them with glue, fix the structure, then leave the structure to dry.

    Then continue weaving the structure upward until it reaches the height you wanted. Remember, its height directly depends on the length of the paper strips you originally cut out.

    Bend the remaining ends inside the basket and glue them to the body. If they turn out to be long, and the height suits you, carefully trim off the excess length with scissors.

    Another option for a beautiful paper basket

    You will need to prepare newspapers (or office paper), glue, paints for coloring, an empty half-liter jar, or a liter one (depending on what size basket you want to make).

    Well, shall we weave? First, cut rectangles out of paper, it is best to take A4 size. We will describe below how to cut it correctly.

    Cut each leaf in half lengthwise.

    Then, using a knitting needle or a regular skewer, twist tubes from our paper halves. Keep in mind that you need to start twisting from the corner and as tightly as possible. Glue the very tip of the tube to the base of the workpiece.

    We will need a lot of such blanks, so be patient.

    You lengthen a certain number of blanks by pulling out the core of the glued product, but not by much. We want one end of the tube to be thinner than the opposite.

    Lubricate this thin end with glue, and then insert it into the wider end of the prepared tubes. Wait for the glue to dry. You need to make at least nine of these long glued tubes.

    To make the weaving as even as possible, slightly flatten the prepared tubes.

    Now we make the bottom of our basket

    Take four prepared tubes and place them on any convenient surface parallel to one another. Perpendicularly, you now need to weave a fifth tube between them, covering the first, and then under the bottom of the second, and so on until the end of the row. Similarly, weave three more tubes into the structure, only alternating the sequence of actions. For example, the second tube will first go underneath, and only then cover the next one.

    The last paper tube needs to be woven into one of the sides, then bent at an angle of ninety degrees, not forgetting to change the order of placement from top to bottom.

    Gradually lengthening our base in this way, it will take on a rounded shape by itself, this is normal.

    Make it the same size as the bottom of the jar you prepared.

    Now we will weave the walls of our basket!

    Bend the ends of our workpiece, then place our jar on it and make the walls. To do this, carefully push the tube between the rows. If it turns out to be too short, then glue more tubes to it, as described above.

    When you have woven a product of the required height, do not relax, you also need to make a handle for the basket, and it must be attached somewhere. To do this, thread the tube with which you weaved through the top and penultimate row.

Paper is the most affordable and versatile material that is used both for children's creativity and for serious design work. A paper basket can be an interesting addition to the interior, gift wrapping for a loved one, or just an excuse to do some DIY creativity with your child. In this material you will find a selection of original ideas for making paper baskets.

Making a simple paper basket with your own hands in MK

Even a child can handle this craft, and most importantly, it will take very little time. To work you will need a square sheet of paper or cardboard. It’s good if there is a beautiful design on the outside of the paper.

First, you need to draw a square piece of paper into 9 small squares (3x3) and make 4 cuts, as shown in the photo:

We bend the workpiece so that two opposite squares along the middle line stand parallel to each other. The remaining side walls will be inclined at the same angle.

Apply glue to the middle squares and glue the entire structure. Cut out a strip of paper for the pen and glue it on. The craft is ready!

Kraft paper baskets.

Baskets made from brown wrapping paper will look very stylish in almost any interior. They can be used as a stand for artificial flowers or a container for storing small items.

To work, you will need brown craft paper, scissors, glue and tape, a sheet of cardboard (or other thick paper).

At the beginning of work, you need to prepare strips for weaving, 30 cm in length. To do this, cut strips 4 cm wide and fold them in half lengthwise. One basket requires about 50 strips.

We select 16 paper strips, 8 of them are laid horizontally, the other 8 are laid vertically. We start weaving from the bottom, crossing the strips with each other. Then we bend the strips up and move on to weaving the walls.

We braid the vertical ones with a “working” strip. At the end, we bend the remaining ends inward and glue them. The result is a square-shaped basket.

If you want to make a round basket, you will need to cut a circle for the base from cardboard or very thick paper. To weave the base, we take 8 strips, first fold them crosswise in pairs, and then connect them together in the shape of a star with one center. Glue a round base to the center of the star. We bend the strips up and begin to braid them with another strip in a circle. At the end, leave 2.5 cm of base strips, bend them inward and glue them. The round basket is ready!

Another option for a round basket. For it you will also need a cardboard circle of any suitable size and strips of kraft paper. Using instant glue, glue 12 strips (5 mm wide) to the base circle at an equal distance from each other. We bend them upward and begin to braid them with a working strip, as in the previous example. We leave 2.5 times the height of the strips free at the end, fold them inward and glue them.

A basket made of paper using the origami technique.

To work, you will need a square sheet of paper for the basket and a strip of paper for the pen. We fold the base of the origami basket according to the diagram:

We bend the strip of paper for the pen 4 times lengthwise and glue it. The basket is ready!

Basket using 3D appliqué technique.

Three-dimensional applique is an effective and interesting technique, popular in children's creativity. In order to make a basket you will need 2 sheets of colored paper of different colors, PVA glue, scissors, a ruler and a pencil.

Let's analyze the work on the craft step by step. First, cut both sheets of paper into thin long strips 0.5 cm wide. We intertwine the strips together to form a rectangle equal to the desired size of the basket.

The rectangle needs to be given a slightly inclined shape. To do this, slightly stretch out the two sides of the rectangle - the space between the stripes on this side should expand slightly.

If you are completely satisfied with the size and shape of the future basket, we begin gluing the joints of the strips. We turn the rectangle inside out and apply small drops of glue to the joints and dry. We cut off the excess length of the strips, retreating 1.5-2 cm from the basket, bend the tails and glue them.

We cut the remaining lighter strips in half, and divide the dark ones into 3 parts. We roll them into tight bundles (“barrels”). You can wind it on a simple sewing needle and glue the ends. Glue the blanks along the bottom edge of the basket, alternating colors.

Glue the basket to the flower applique. First we glue the bottom edge, then the sides (separately), so that the top edge moves slightly away from the surface. We lay out the handle of the basket with the remaining “barrels” of paper strips, also alternating them.

The craft is ready. If desired, you can add a butterfly or bow to the basket.

Video on the topic of the article

For those who want to get new ideas for creativity and analyze the making of baskets in more detail. We have prepared a selection of video master classes:

There are many different kinds of paper crafts. It’s not surprising, because this material is very convenient - you can make anything from it: from applications to things you need in everyday life. In this article you will learn how to make a paper basket in several ways. Such a thing is useful because you can store some useful items in it, plus, such baskets perfectly complement any interior.

Basket made of newspaper tubes

The final product will have an unusual beauty, and even a novice needlewoman can handle its weaving.

Materials for work

In order to make such an unusual decorative element, you need to stock up on the following materials:

  • Old newspapers (you can also use magazines).
  • A long knitting needle designed for knitting.
  • Glue - it's better to use PVA.
  • Linen elastic.
  • Sharp scissors.
  • Clips for drying clothes.
  • Brushes for gluing and painting the basket.
  • Stationery knife.
  • The base that will be used for weaving.
  • Thick cardboard.
  • A small load is needed to give the product its shape.
  • Acrylic or gouache.
  • Varnish for decoration.
  • Decorative elements, for example, artificial flowers, beads, beads, decoupage napkins, etc.

Algorithm for making tubes

In order to make a paper basket with your own hands, you need to make as many paper tubes as possible - this is necessary in order not to be distracted by this task during the entire work procedure.

In order to make paper straws, you need to follow this algorithm:

  • Disassemble the paper into double sheets, line them into strips, the width of which will be 10 cm.

Important! It is desirable that the length of the strips be the same, so it is better to use newspapers or magazines of the same sample.

  • Cut the paper along the drawn lines.
  • Take the prepared knitting needle and attach it to the corner of the strip at an angle of 10 degrees.
  • Start winding the strip onto the knitting needle until it is all twisted into a tube.

Important! Keep in mind that one end of the paper tube should be smaller in diameter than the other end - this will help to grow the tubes later.

  • Lubricate one end of the paper with PVA glue and glue it so that the tube does not unwind.

So, the tubes are made.

Important! If you have a desire, you can immediately paint them in the desired color with gouache or acrylic paint; if not, you can do this when the basket is completely ready, or not paint it at all.

There are two ways by following which you can achieve the desired result.

Method 1 for making a basket

This method is the easiest. To make a paper basket, you must follow the following procedure:

  1. Cut out two cardboard bottoms that will have the shape of a circle or oval.
  2. Flatten a 20 mm paper tube from the edge, lubricate this section with adhesive, and glue it to the bottom.
  3. Carry out the same procedure with other newspaper tubes, evenly placing them around the perimeter of the bottom. The approximate distance between them is 2 cm.
  4. Lubricate the second bottom with glue, glue it to the first so that the glued sections of the tubes are between these two parts.
  5. Place the weight and let the base dry completely.
  6. Bend all the paper rays so that they look up.
  7. Glue the currently working tube to the bottom from the inside, and then begin weaving the walls. In this case, you need to place it either in front of the base tube or behind it.
  8. Weave the basket in this way until you reach the desired length.
  9. When the product is ready, it can be decorated with decorative elements as desired.

Method 2 for making a basket

This method will differ in its complexity. If you want to follow exactly this, then it is better not to paint the paper tubes in advance.

In order to make a paper basket with your own hands, you must follow the proposed algorithm:

  • Arm yourself with a bottle or jar and trace it at the base on a piece of thick cardboard.
  • Cut out two outlined circles.
  • Now you need to make the frame. To do this, you need to flatten one edge of the newspaper tube by 2-3 centimeters.
  • Apply glue to one base circle.
  • Glue the paper tubes to this base with their flattened ends - they need to be placed at an equal distance, which will be approximately 2 cm.

Important! In order for the parts to stick better, it is recommended to use a press or a glue gun.

  • Lubricate the second circle with glue and glue it onto the second, thereby hiding the places where the vertical tubes are attached.
  • Let the workpiece dry - this will take several hours.
  • Take a tube with a flattened edge and glue it to the base. Place it behind the right vertical vine, which is closer, so that it wraps around the frame from the outside. After this, it needs to be wound in a different direction so that the tube wraps around the vertical vine from the inside.
  • Continue to follow the algorithm until the first row is gossiped. When the paper tube runs out, insert a second one into it.
  • Next, to make your DIY paper basket look neater, you need to insert a jar, vase or bottle into the resulting blank.

Important! It is necessary that the bottom of the container coincides with the cardboard bottom of the future product.

  • Weave to the height you desire.
  • Now the tip of the last tube needs to be cut off and secured with good glue approximately in the middle of the craft.
  • Trim the first vine, which acts as a frame, and glue the rest to the inside of the product.
  • Do the same with the rest of the vines. The basket is woven.
  • If desired, the basket can be woven and a decorative handle can be glued on.
  • Apply the desired paint to the product. It's better to do it in two layers. It is better to cover the base of the basket with three layers of paint.

The basket is ready! Subsequently, it can be used as a vase for dried flowers or as a box for necessary little things.

Master class for children

In order to weave a basket from paper or cardboard, you will need the following materials:

  • Colored paper of two colors or cardboard.
  • Scissors.

To make such an interesting basket, you need to follow these instructions:

  • Prepare strips. To do this, you need to cut the paper into strips 1-2 cm thick.

Important! If the paper is ordinary, thin paper, it is better to fold the strips in half; if it is cardboard, then it is better not to fold it. For this reason, it is better to cut strips of plain paper twice as long as needed for the job.

We suggest using unnecessary paper (newspapers, wrapping paper, magazines, etc.) to make useful products - paper baskets. In this article we will show you 5 simple ways to weave baskets. We used a few strips and tried to simplify the process as much as possible.

Materials needed to make paper baskets:

  1. paper (newspapers, wrapping paper, colored paper, old magazines)
  2. Scissors
  3. Scotch
  4. Cardboard or thick paper.

I used brown paper to make the baskets. Cut strips 30 cm long and 4 cm wide. Fold each strip in half widthwise, maintaining the length. The quantity must be at least 50 pieces.

Step 2. Cart 1.

Take 16 strips and divide them in half. Lay out 8 strips vertically and 8 strips horizontally as shown in the picture. Weave carefully. Once the bottom of the basket is ready, work on the sides. Take the strip and go along the sides as shown in the picture. Weave in the last strip, fold and glue the remaining ends of the strips inside the basket. Thus the square basket is ready!

Step 3. Cart 2.

You will need cardboard or thick paper to make the base of the basket - 8 strips of paper. First, take two strips and glue them in the middle, forming a cross. Now do the same with the remaining strips and make sure they are well glued together. Once all 8 stripes are connected together they should look like a star (as shown in the picture). Glue a round piece of cardboard into the middle of the star. Take several strips as shown in the picture and weave a separate strip into them. The weaving process must be done in a circle. So, gradually weaving strip after strip, you will form a basket. Do not add about 2.5 cm to the end of the ribbons. Fold the remaining parts of the strips inward and glue them together as shown in the picture.

Step 4. Cart 3.

To make this basket you need to take a round piece of cut cardboard and strips 0.5 cm wide. Use super glue and glue 12 strips to a round piece of cardboard. Take another strip and start weaving around the glued strips. Continue by weaving the prepared strips of paper one by one. Continue until the ends of the strips are approximately 2.5cm long. Fold the rest of the strips inside and glue them together. Just look how cute the basket turns out!

Step 5. Cart 4

Take 8 strips Lay out 4 strips vertically and 4 strips horizontally. Tighten the weaves. The fold lines are indicated in the figure. Fold the strips on one side and start weaving by throwing one strip over the other (as shown in the picture). Form an angle at the edges, as in the second picture. Continue and after a few steps you will get a figure like in picture 4. You can fold the remaining strips inward or trim them and then fold them inward. Use glue. Agree that this is the easiest way to make baskets. I hope you enjoy making them.

Step 6. Cart 5.

To make this basket you need strips of the same length, or pieces of strips from the above baskets. Glue all assembled strips together with glue or tape. Cut cardboard or thick paper into an oval shape. Then glue the strip to the oval and carefully begin to wind around the edge, as shown in the picture. While winding, carefully glue the strip together and do this until you form a basket of the desired size. When the strip ends, fold it inward and use glue to attach it to hide its end.

To make this basket you will need a sewing machine, sheets of wrapping paper and thread.

Make stripes as shown in the picture. Sew them on a sewing machine. Then lay out 3 stripes vertically and 3 stripes horizontally. Connect them with a strip sewn into a ring, as shown in the figure. Then thread the next stitched ring, etc. Continue weaving and shaping the basket. Once the basket is made, attach a stitched strip handle to it. Look how beautiful it turns out!
