In the summer, you want to wear something open, light and comfortable. There is a way out - knit a short top for yourself with crochet or knitting. It will take a little time even for beginners. The product has a large number of holes that allow the body to breathe and at the same time form beautiful openwork patterns. You will find several master classes on knitting tops below.

A crop top is a type of short T-shirt, T-shirt or bra. Along with it, there are several other types of styles of open tops, such as:

  • crop top with bustier;
  • bralette;
  • swimsuit.

Short crochet top

The first master class for beginners presents a crop top with a border using the fillet technique, which gives the product a touch of tenderness. It knits up very quickly for women's sizes 44-46. To work, you will need 150 g of white yarn “Iris” with a density of 87 m per 10 g. The hook should be number 1. Knitting begins with a solid front and back. To do this, do the following:

  1. Cast on 421 air loops (VP), close them in a ring.
  2. On the first round, make a 3-ch rise, then knit 420 double crochets (dc).
  3. Perform 3 VPs, 3 of which are for lifting. Next, repeat this cycle 139 times - 2 VP, 1 Dc under the 3rd column of the previous circle. There will be a total of 140 fillet cells.
  4. Knit another 19 rows using the 3-point principle, then divide the fabric in half into 70 fillet cells. Mark the lines of the sides of the crop top here.
  1. To create armholes, on the 22nd circle from the beginning, do not knit 8 fillet cells on both sides. There will be 54 left in work.
  2. On the 45th line of knitting, also leave 28 cells, only in the center. 13 left.
  3. In the 48th row, complete the work, cut the thread.

To decorate the front neckline from circle 32, no longer knit 28 middle cells. On the same 48th circle, finish mating. Next, connect the front to the back along the shoulder seams and begin knitting the bottom of the crop top. For this:

  1. Attach a thread to the side line.
  2. Knit the first 4 rows in arches according to the pattern, making a connecting column at the end of each. There should be 14 rapports in total.
  3. Next, make 5-20 circles in a pattern in the form of Christmas trees, also according to the diagram.

This type of short blouse is worn directly over a swimsuit. The shape can be different - a blouse, T-shirt or T-shirt, often with bare shoulders and neckline. For one of these crop tops you will need:

  • fine cotton yarn with a density of about 270 m per 50 g;
  • hook No. 1.5.

The knitting instructions here are designed for bust size B. Beginners and experienced needlewomen should focus on their underwear. To knit one cup, follow these steps:

  1. Cast on a chain of 21 VPs and make 3 more for lifting.
  2. Knit double crochets until the end of the row, and make 5 of them at once in the last loop at the turn.
  3. Then do the CCH again until the end, then do 3 VPs and again perform the cycle of 2 points.
  4. Continue knitting like this until the 10th row. Under the post at the turn, make 5 dcs all the time.
  5. On the 10th line of knitting, knit 3 DCs under each 3 columns of the previous row. At the turn, make them in 3 central loops.
  6. Complete the last row like this - 4 DC under the first loop, then 7, but under the arch between the columns of the last connected line. When turning, knit 3 dc and 2 ch between them.

At the end of knitting 2 cups, attach the penultimate and last rapports to those of the same name on the first cup. After this stage, proceed to make the bottom of the product according to this description:

  1. Cast on 16 VPs, then knit 89 single crochets (SC) along the bottom of the cups, then make another 16 VPs. There will be 121 loops in total.
  2. For the second row, go up 1 ch, then sc into it.
  3. Next, knit the 3rd row like this – 1 VP, *4 DC for every 5th column, 1 VP, 4 DC*. After 1 sc and again cycle between *.
  4. On the 4th line of knitting, start with 2 dc in one loop, then alternate 2 ch, 1 sc, 2 ch and 1 ch between 2 dc. Continue this pattern until the 9th row, starting with the odd numbered ones with 3 VP lifts and 4 DC under 1 column.

After 9 lines have been knitted, move on to the harnesses. Perform the top rows by alternating rows with and without double crochets. One of the side ones is done like this:

  1. On the side of one cup, work 3 lifting loops, 2 dc with a common top and 12 dc.
  2. Start the next row with 1 VP and knit in columns without threading.
  3. Alternate the 2 previous points, performing the last 2 columns with a common vertex in odd rows.
  4. After row 20, stop decreasing and continue working until row 91.

How to crochet an openwork top from motifs

Products made from various motifs, for example, cobwebs, round or square, look original. They are very easy to make, because you only need to make a certain number of elements. To work you will need 200-250 g of white Hakelbaumwolle uni yarn. For sizes 36-28 and 40-42, the diagram shows the number and location of parts. The motive itself works like this:

  1. Cast on 48 vp, close with a ring and tie with sc.
  2. Go up 4 ch, start with 2 columns with 2 double crochets, knitted into 1 vertex, and then tie the entire circle, connecting 3 columns into one.
  3. Complete the next circle with arches of 6 vp.
  4. Then, according to the pattern, knit cycles of 6 sc + 3 vp. between them. At the same stage, immediately tie the corner arches according to the pattern.
  5. Add the following 1 s.b.n. to the finished motif. in the places indicated by the arrows.

Crochet summer top for girls

Using these instructions, you can crochet a crop top for a 6-7 year old girl. For this, take “Iris” threads, preferably pink. A child's item will require only 50 g. Before starting work, draw a pattern for the whole product according to the diagram of half the front and back. The description of the process of knitting a children's crop top looks like this:

  1. Dial 84 VP and 3 more for lifting.
  2. Work 17 rows according to pattern 1, leave 3 repeats on the sides for the armhole and knit the front and back separately. On the front side, close 7 central repeats through another 6 knitted lines, and on the back - through 10. Knit another 4 rows of front and back separately.
  3. Connect the crop top along the shoulder seams and make an applique according to patterns 3-6.

Video: how to crochet a top for beginners step by step

The classic crop top is crocheted using cotton yarn. All products open the lower abdomen. Here it’s worth assessing your abs, because it’s better to shine in a loose tunic than to look ridiculous in such a model. In the free videos below you can clearly see crocheted tops with diagrams and descriptions, which will make your work easier.

What to wear with crochet crop tops

A crop top will look equally beautiful on a girl and a woman. This style of clothing is used to create both a casual and more elegant evening look. You can combine them with almost any bottom, but it is better to stick to the high-waist principle. The classic option here is a midi or pencil skirt. Shorts or light, high-waisted trousers will also work.

On hot summer days, preference is given to open clothing made from natural fabrics. Therefore, on the eve of the holiday season, I want to knit something light and comfortable, for example, a crochet crop top. This wardrobe item is not suitable for everyone. The top reveals the stomach, so only those with a thin waist and toned abs can appreciate it. Therefore, we put the figure in order, study the description of the models and get down to business. Unlike traditional blouses, a crop top is knitted instantly.

We crochet a stylish crop top: choose a style

Interesting ideas for making crop tops can be seen in photo and video tutorials. First, let's study the types of crop tops.

  • Bustier is a product with underwires, often in the form of a corset.
  • Bandeau - the shortest option, is a strapless strip of material that wraps tightly around the figure.
  • Top in the form of a cropped T-shirt.
  • Off the shoulder top.

A knitting artist can implement any of them in her product. But most often they stop at the first option. The design of such a top consists of two parts: a cup and an openwork lower part.

Preparatory stage.

Regardless of the model, to knit a fashionable wardrobe item you will need two components:

  • yarn. Since the item is intended for summer, the ideal material would be cotton; the thread should not be thick - this will make the top more openwork and elegant. Focus on a thread length of 270–280 meters in 50 grams of yarn; yarn consumption, depending on the size, will be from 50 to 150 grams.
  • hook. The tool is matched to the threads. For the above yarn, size No. 1.5 is recommended.
Crop top with cups:
  1. Knitting begins with constructing a pattern. The figure shows the product dimensions for cup size “B”.
  1. The top cups are done first. Using a crochet hook, pick up 21 air loops + 3 air loops for lifting. Then they work based on the diagram.
  1. After both cups are connected, they are connected to each other. To do this, the penultimate repeat (this is 7 double crochets) of the second cup in the last row is connected to the penultimate repeat of the first cup. This is done as follows. Using a half single crochet, the second cup is tied to 4 double crochets of the penultimate repeat of the first cup. After which the remaining 3 double crochets are knitted. The connection of the cups ends by knitting the last double crochet in the last repeat.
  1. The lower part of the product is knitted from the cups. The repeat of the openwork pattern is 8 loops + 1 loop. That is, having crocheted 16 air loops, 89 single crochets are knitted under the cups (8 loops * 11 + 1 loop = 89 loops), and at the end another 16 air loops are cast on. To get 89 loops for knitting a pattern, under each single crochet or 3 chain stitches, knit 2 single crochets, and in the center 1 single crochet. In total, 121 loops will be knitted in the first row, which is 15 repeats of the pattern.
  2. The second row of the bottom part of the product is knitted with a single crochet. 1 air loop for lifting and 120 columns of the pattern are performed.
  3. Starting from the third row, the top is knitted according to the pattern. A total of 9 rows are performed.
  4. After the 9th row, without breaking the threads, begin to make ties on the back. Their length varies as desired. In the example, they are made equal to 50 cm. The harnesses are knitted by changing the knitting direction, according to the following pattern, gradually reducing the number of loops to 6.

The second tie is performed similarly to the first.

  1. The penultimate step is knitting the top harnesses. They are attached to the center of each cup and are made using single crochets according to the pattern.

The length of the ties should be approximately 45 cm.

  1. After all parts of the crop top are completed, the product is steamed, unnecessary threads are hidden and cut off.

Let's look at the popular crop top options among needlewomen.

Beginning needlewomen can try knitting a simple crop top with an American armhole. This product does not have cups and is made in one piece. Unlike the previous version, this model has a button closure (on the back) and a thin cord for tying at the neck.

  1. Using a hook, a chain of air loops is made. The chain length is 171–184–197–211 loops depending on the size.
  2. The next rows are knitted according to the pattern.

It is important to control the density of the fabric so that it turns out neat and symmetrical.

  1. Having knitted a height of 7–8–9–10 cm, they begin to reduce the width of the fabric, thus forming an armhole.
  2. The final length of the product is about 30–31–32–34 cm.
  3. To assemble, loops are knitted for the button fastening on the back - one button on the left side and one on the right. The loops are made like this: 1 double crochet, 2 chain stitches, 1 double crochet (knitted by skipping 1.5 cm of fabric).
  4. The cord for the neck is knitted separately. It consists of three strips of air loops woven into a braid. The cord is threaded through the top of the top.

Video on the topic of the article

Anyone can learn to crochet. And fascinating video lessons will help with this. Another useful property of the presented selection is a lot of ideas for creativity and its further implementation!

To knit this summer top, I chose Nako Fiore yarn 50 g. 150 m. It took a little less than two skeins. Yarn composition: 25% linen, 35% cotton and 40% bamboo. Hook No. 2.

For a volume of 70 cm, I cast on fewer loops than in the diagram. I got 134 loops. I immediately marked the center of the product, so that later it would be easier to start knitting the pattern.

I knitted 12 rows in height. On the 13th row I began to knit an openwork pattern and decreases. For the back, I left 10 loops on each side, and on the rest I knitted decreases, as in the diagram. The numbers in the diagram indicate the number of columns before and after the openwork.

Having knitted the main fabric, I scored 100 v. p. for ties And after the tying I returned with connecting columns to the beginning, then tied one side to the bottom with single crochets.

I attached the thread and knitted the second tie and, in the same way, returned along the tie with a connecting stitch to the beginning and then continued to knit with a single crochet along the edge.

Separately, I knitted a tie on the back using 200v. P.

A bustier is a piece of outerwear. It is a strapless top or a cropped tank top with narrow straps. A very convenient wardrobe item on hot summer days. Also, a bustier is used as part of a swimsuit, instead of a bodice. The top is made from different materials and in different ways. In this article, we propose crocheting a bustier with patterns and descriptions of which will make this process as simple as possible.

Delicate crochet bustier in lilac color

The top is made in a pastel tone of lilac. Its bottom is decorated with a fantasy pattern, and the cups are decorated with a double crochet. This product gives its owner a touch of romance and emphasizes her sexuality.

Product size 40.

To crochet a bustier we need:

  • 2 skeins of lilac yarn Natalia,
  • as well as hook No. 2.

Let's start knitting with the bodice. We cast on a chain of 20 chain stitches and knit with a double crochet on both sides (rows 1-8) as shown in diagram 1. Then we tie cup 1 with a row of single crochets.

Do the second cup in the same way.

For the back of the lower part of the product, we cast on a chain of air loops 40 cm long. We perform one row with a single crochet, and then continue knitting in the circle, attaching the bodice (visually shown in the assembly diagram). The front part is made with a fantasy pattern (diagram 2). When the knitting reaches a height of 13 cm, finish the work.

To knit the straps, we fasten the thread at the tops of the bodice cups and collect air loops to the required length.

Snow-white crochet bustier with fillet pattern

A wonderful openwork top that can serve as both dressy and casual wear. It looks fantastic on tanned skin.

The product is designed for European sizes - 34-36 (38-40) 42-44, and Russian sizes - 40-42 (44-46) 48-50.

For work need to prepare:

  • 200(200) 250g white yarn (70% cotton, 15% silk, 15% polyamide),
  • hook No. 3.5.

Execution technique

Basic pattern. We knit with a double crochet. We start each row with 3 instep stitches instead of 1 double crochet, and end with 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain stitch of the previous row.

Sirloin pattern. The number of loops is a multiple of 3+1. We knit according to the pattern, starting with the loops before rapport A, then we do the repeat A 6 (8) 10 times, and after completing the loops we move on to the repeat B 6 (8) 10 times. We finish with loops after rapport B and perform rows 1-13.

Left side of the bustier. We cast on a chain of 28 (34) 36 air loops + 3 lifting loops and crochet with the main pattern. After 8 (9.5) 10 cm from the start of work, skip 14 (17) 18 loops along the left edge.

Continue knitting on the remaining 14 (17) 18 loops and after 16 (19) 20 cm from the first row, complete the work.

Make the right side of the product symmetrically to the left.

For the back, we cast on a chain of 76 (88) 100 air loops + 3 lifting loops and knit with a fillet pattern. When the canvas reaches 16 cm in length, complete the work.

We knit the front part in the same way as the back.

Assembly of parts

We sew the seams of the bustier elements according to the control points indicated in the diagram.

Tie the parts with a single crochet, and then tie ties from 100 air loops, which are also tied with a single crochet. To decorate the neckline, we knit together the last single crochet of the first part with 1 single crochet of the second part. At the end of the work, we connect all the parts of the product and make the necessary seams.

Selection of schemes

You can crochet a beautiful crop top using these patterns and descriptions from designer Svetlana Shcherbakova. Each of the models is good - after all, the fringe, the sleeves - wings, and the openwork patterns - these are exactly those cute details that make an ordinary summer top original. They are knitted with yarn made from a mixture of cotton and olive-colored bamboo; they differ only in design. These patterns were published in the magazine “Crochet” No. 7/2017.

Crochet crop tops: patterns and descriptions
